Möbius Strips

The Möbius Strip is fascinating: it has a three-dimensional curved shape but only one side and one edge! Its sculptural and tactile qualities make it particularly appealing to many people. A friend commissioned a carving of a new Möbius Strip after her original (given to her by Nick almost thirty years previously) was stolen from the set of the film "Proof". Subsequently, many carved Mobius Strips have been commissioned by people who have seen a previous one. As a result it has become a signature piece for Nick.

'Trinity'

If you look at this shape at any single point, it has a triangular cross-section and therefore three sides; if you consider it as a whole, it only has one side.

Hallway Furniture

This commission was for a customer called Peacock who wanted a walking stick stand and two pairs of coat hooks. Each piece features curves inspired by the Möbius Strip and a carved peacock as way of decoration.
